Hier Encore, de Bach à Aznavour

An exceptional musical event: First Baroque concert at Saint-Georges Church in Longueuil

The Mirabilia Ensemble is pleased to announce its first-ever Baroque music concert at Saint-Georges Church in Longueuil, on Saturday, June 8, 2025, at 3 p.m.

This program, entitled “From Bach to Aznavour,” features masterpieces by 18th-century composers such as Bach, Vivaldi, and Handel, as well as arrangements of modern songs by Aznavour, Ferré, Barbara, and other great composers.

Founded by soprano Myriam Leblanc and flautist Grégoire Jeay, the Mirabilia Ensemble primarily promotes baroque music played on period instruments, but also occasionally explores music from older or more contemporary periods, arranged for our ensemble. Mirabilia has given itself a sufficiently broad horizon allowing it to choose and disseminate a repertoire that will reach audiences from all backgrounds and all ages while remaining within the broad sphere of classical music.

“It’s like a distillate of eau de vie, of absolute transparency… Her name is Myriam Leblanc, and in my opinion, she has one of the most beautiful voices in the last 10 years, perhaps the most beautiful, to emerge from the Quebec breeding ground…”

(Christophe Huss, Samedi et rien d’autre, December 2020)

“The voice is the star: it is pure, crystalline, and captivating for these qualities. This publication is therefore crucial for this: it draws our full attention to Myriam Leblanc as a prominent artist of the young generation of singers revealed in recent years.”

(The Canadian, January 2021)
